Perlur vatnsins

Pearls of water
My hands are holding a fistful
of clear, brilliant drops from a spring-fed river.
It looks as if the drops are praising the splendour and glory of the earth,
they see nothing but dreamlike beauty and joy.
When I throw these dreamlike waterdrops into the air
they become magnificent pearls.
This is how life should be:
only observing dreamlike beauty.
Even though there is trouble and hardship afloat in this world,
there is always some sunshine to be found, somewhere.
Let a dream of something wonderful awaken in you,
then the depths of sorrow will shoal.
